Libraries Are Information Hubs

The Sara Hightower Regional Library System is your information hub. With six branches across Chattooga, Floyd, and Polk County, the library is here to help you get access to the information you need. Through your local library, you can read for pleasure or learn a new skill or hobby, search for jobs, use free technology, take technology home with you, research your family history, and so much more.

Computer Room

A Georgia PINES library card is free. Just stop by your closest library branch with your photo ID to sign up. Once inside the library, you may choose to use our computer and printing services. Log on to our computers to search for jobs, fill out applications, or do research. You can print, copy, and fax for a reasonable fee as well. Not sure where to get started with technology? Sign up for one-on-one technology help with one of our helpful staff members. We even offer technology on-the-go. You can use your library card to check out laptops, hot spots, and tablets and bring them home.

Our local history collections offer the ability to research your family tree or topics of local interest. We also offer a vast nonfiction collection on any topic that may spark your interest.

History Room

If you’re more interested in reading for fun, browse our large collection of novels. If you’re on the go, download our Libby or Palace Project app for audio and eBooks that you can read directly from your phone, tablet, or eReader.

If you’re looking for a place to socialize and meet new people, check out our wide variety of programs for adults including book clubs, knitting groups, craft events, and gaming groups. We also host reading challenges for all ages throughout the year. Our 2026 “Unearth A Story” Reading Challenge begins on May 26, 2026 and runs through July 18, 2026. You can also join our Georgia Reads for America250 Reading Challenge, which we are hosting in partnership with Georgia Reads and Georgia Public Library Services (GPLS).

There is also a special commemorative America250 library card available for those interested.

Our helpful staff will be happy to assist you in learning more about the library and trying the different resources we have available.
